Word of Mouth / Stormbringer's Waltz [DM Info]
August 14, 2017, 12:58:23 AM
Hello Everybody :D

Apparently I've been recruited to DM a game. This game will take place sometime in the next two-three weeks with an exact day to be determined [I am not in town this weekend, Lady dates!] In the meantime I wanted to put out the general idea of the plot - as well as give a timeline and a tool for those who are either A.) Joined Game, or B.) Need help and want to join, or C.) Just need help. :D

General Premise

Karita Marinus is the human captain of the Outlaw Seraphim who was once a pirate but in order to gain a pardon for her crew has taken on a job of delivering an item of 'great importance' from Avarien, which is one of the Major Port cities to Geis which is the Holy Capital. It is not necessarily a long trip, but the package is of rather large value that the Mayor seems want to make sure out of his city as fast as possible and placed with the Priesthood.

You have joined Captain Marinus' crew either by choice thanks to word of mouth at your local tavern, or by force whether that be by the Mayor of the great city or to serve out your 'time' for your own pardon.

Stats are rolled in two FULL sets. You can chose either set but you must accept full numbers in each set. Your dice rolls are completed using /roll 4d6k3 in Roll20. They must be done with me in the room! So if you want to roll your stats please nudge me on discord :)

Your character sheets will be put up to Level 5. You get 2 character traits chose them wisely!

Zyrb and Greyfrost will help you if you have questions regarding character sheet building!

Before game I need to have everyone's bios typed up and a long term and short term goal for your characters.

...But as a bonus I will also allow some collaboration for you, my dear players, to tell me...Secrets about your characters or other peoples characters that they are keeping from the party. So if you want some backstory with another player I am okay with this. But send me a PM either on Forsaken or Discord and I look forward to seeing you in a few weeks. :)

Link to game: https://app.roll20.net/join/2483485/X7Ui6Q

The game will be played over our Discord Server strictly in the tabletop room. IF you want  to listen to the game note ALL non players will be muted upon entry. Thank you everyone who is helping me and I hope we all have fun and have a fabulous game :)

A large shadow loomed over the valley, golden eyes watched as the sun lost slowly lost it's battle with the long extinct volcano that had become her home. Her legs dangled over the edge of the cliff, her cloven hooves tucked so they touched the rock. The warmth of the summer would be gone soon, but that didn't mean that the feeling of the warm stone didn't feel good to her. Her ombre fur almost made her blend into the cliff side if it hadn't been for the fact she sported the spiraling alicorn that sparkled in the dying light of the sun and the glass beads that cast ruby lights to the wall behind her.

Asabikeshiinh was an odd creature, more prey than predator though despite this her own natural defenses did little to actually drive off anyone that threatened her - that was what her mate was for. She knew that Asil would have preferred that her demure and gentle nature at least had some bite to it but that was not her way. In fact, Asa was more prone to run from conflict than to face it head long. She curled her tail over the edge so that she could feel the light breeze through the silken strands that resided at the base of her tail as though she was lost in her own thoughts. Resting at the base of her chest resided the dreamcatcher that had been lovingly and painstakingly taken apart and reassembled with ornaments that only Ke'akamai could give her.

She flexed her wings slightly, wings that were certainly more for decoration rather than actual flight as they stretched and she settled her gaze away from the shadow below to more towards the twilight to watch as the stars came out. She had always been fascinated by the little balls of light that hung far above them. She knew that sometimes her mate would point out to a various cluster call it a constellation according to his own Tribe and how they traveled across the oceans. Thinking about him she took in a breath, she missed him in a way - Asil had taken him to some errand that didn't require her services but it had been the longest the two had been apart since they had met. It made her heart ache, before she closed her eyes head still tilted up towards the sky. Perhaps tonight would be different, she could hope couldn't she?

A woman crouched to the ground as she examined the dirt with her fingers. If the woman had been a betting woman she would say that she had almost caught up to the caravan that had been rather allusive the last few days. Why she had taken up this bounty she was still questioning to a degree, but then again any information that gave her the whereabouts to her enemies was a blessing in itself. That was what she had been promised as well as a rather hefty upfront fee for her skills and services. She had been asked to make sure when she was done to dump the body in a place where it could be found. Not her usual forte but when it boiled down to it she hadn't gotten a choice in the matter.

She carefully stood and pulled her hood back to reveal defined features, long lashed eyes framed silver hues that peered through the lowlight of the morning. She still had some debts to pay and a Rat to kill. The idea of finding the Rat and strangling him or at least having experience the very tortures he had put her through was an idea she savored. Yet she suspect she had been down this road before, which made her eyes narrow very slightly as she pulled herself up onto the dapple mare, clicking to her lightly. The mare had been a companion since the fall of Eden. It was weird to think that instead of a snake a rat with his henchmen of a fox was the reason it had fallen this time. No matter, she could always find the others. At least those that hadn't retired, or ah, preferred their brothels than their lifestyle.

Her suspicions as to where exactly she was going were confirmed as she pulled back on the reigns a few hours later. There was no mistaken the golden lions that perched outside the gates to the settlement. She took in a breath, carefully through her nose before carefully checking her things to make sure the forged documentation for own safety was carefully in place. It may had been over a dozen years since she had resided at the establishment that lay at the center of the settlement, her departure less than ideal by the standards set by the staff...or any Slave Trade post for that matter.

She only would need her papers for the establishment itself, but the settlement had grown, it was more of a town now with a bustling market and shops that lined the roads as she nudged her horse along the road. Of course to capitalize the profits, The House of Setting Suns was attached to The Gilded Shackle, so it could be considered, say, a one-stop shop of sorts. Get your sleep and entertainment. The mare beneath her seemed to sense her uneasiness and stamped her hoof. A pale hand reached to pet her neck before guiding her to a stable hand and dismounting with ease. This time the hood fell from her face revealing a pale woman with ivory hair that was wound back into a tight braided bun. Some strands of her ivory hair fell across her features but upon close inspection feline ears could be seen flicking this way and that - a single scar marring along the back of her left ear. Her constant reminder as she went to the guards to show her papers.

Of course, the formidable White Rose would not get through this unnoticed entirely as she passed through the gates without so much as a second glance to the entrance hall where patrons and slaves bustled from place to place, her one track mind would go to her goal, first thing was to find information. Again she took in a deep breath, a soft sigh leaving her lips. "Welcome back to hell, Cage." She muttered more to herself as she moved past the slaves to the open foyer, making a straight away to the bar. Honestly information could wait, being here made her nerves heighten out of habit as she settled into a stool and the barmen perked up to see her there. "Whiskey," came her voice again sliding the coinage from her purse to the keep. Her elbows rested on the counter as she waited. There was black cigarette on her lip but she hadn't lit it yet, she seemed to loose a sense of time only to blink after a few moments and glance down.

She had ordered a whiskey right?

Space Station X910 was nothing out of the ordinary in the year 3903, nor was the augmentations that sported the inhabitants or the multiple species that resided within. What Space Station X910 did have, though, was one of the most infamous escape artists known to man in the forms of one single woman. Vespera Kingsley - code named Fortuna by her case file had been quite the cat burglar in her day. Until she finally had gotten caught after three years of on the run and several heists in her day.

Though the idea of her past being her day made her grimace mildly. She wasn't that old, probably in her mid to late twenties depending on what she wore. Prison had not been the most pleasant of places for the woman, but she had made her peace. Most left her alone if they actually decided to let her out of that clear box. They provided a privacy corner, thank whatever person who actually listened, but outside of that corner there was someone who had eyes on her twenty-four seven.

Which meant masturbating was a bitch.

She was sure it had to deal with the agent who finally caught her. At the moment, Vespera was more interested in the book she had finally acquired to distract her. There were marks on her walls, counting the days till her freedom. She had been in this hellhole for well over a year now judging by the marks she had written upon her walls but today was different. She just had that hair on the back of her hair standing on end.

And as if karma wanted to remind her about her sixth sense of things there was the guard at her door, entering the code to her cell with those space cuffs in hand to in case her from wrist to elbows. No way to wiggle out of that! They heard the hard way the standard issue would not be enough for their resident Fortuna. "Is it my birthday?" She asked sarcastically as the cuffs were attached, tossing her book over her shoulder as she was led from the room.

"You have a guest." was all the guard said as he soon deposited her into yet another room, though at least this one was far more amicable than her own quarters. The room actually had rather comfortable chairs and a table. She plopped herself into one of the chairs, waiting for her so call visitor to arrive with her chin resting on her hands. Not like she was going anywhere anytime soon.

Upon inspection, outside of the standard issue tank top and black pants that hugged her hips, Vespera was quite pretty. Also by the gaze  from those green eyes it was easy to tell the woman had indulged in some various tools for her trade. Augmented eyes for better seeing in the night but no harm during the day, making her pupils much like a cats.  Even her hair was a chestnut brown, that was easy to disguise and gave the impression of blending in. Her ears were also slightly augmented, a metal clip to her ear that if she stroked just right would give her some pretty decent amplification of sound. She didn't need it now, but as far as 'cat burglars' went she at least came prepared for everything.

Well except for running into *him* again.

Writer's Guild / Wide Awake
August 16, 2012, 08:59:00 PM
He had gripped her in his hold, fingers clinging to hers desperately as she clung to him one handed. Feathers were falling off her in waves dizzying down beneath the storming clouds beneath them. His face was strained, holding on to the only thing that had kept him sane in the wave of turmoil that had been flooding their world. "Don't let go!" He cried as he clung to the only female that had made him feel something other than a deranged lunatic. No one would believe that he had the potential or what he saw had been real.

Until her.

The Angel of his dreams who had came and changed the world for him. Changed it so much that he had almost risked everything for her, almost sold his very soul to the Devil himself so he could stay with her forever. His Angel looked up at him with those bright eyes. "I'm trying to hold on." Her voice was always that balm to the chaos of voices that had been echoing for years. The emotions of others trapped inside his being had made him realize that nothing was his own.

Until her.

He was the one who had gotten her here, and snapped his other hand on her forearm, and started to pull her up. Feathers continued to fall away from the bone that had been her angelic wings. She had taken the Fall for him. She had told him that  she needed the Fall to save everything. He had always assumed it had been just for him, yet he knew that there was more to his lovely Angel than what met the eye. She was wise as much as she appeared young, the constant tactic to stay in the knowledge never having seem to take a toll on her.

Until this.

His hand started to slip however, his sole link to his version of heaven slipping from his fingers. He could feel it, her willingness to just surrender to the end. She had already descended from so many tiers of Heaven that this couldn't be the end. Her bright eyes were growing with that acceptance. "You're wide awake to the world around you now." She said softly, her free hand that had been dangling before moving to touch his cheek. "Don't be afraid to let go."

Until now.

Her whole body surrendered to the end. His grip started to slide. He needed her, didn't she see that?! "Don't give up on me!" he cried as soon the fingers started to slip through his. Another peel of thunder beneath them and then his castle crumbled just as his bright side began to fall further, almost in slow motion. A heart beat, and then she was gone. His entire world shattered before his eyes. The castle that had shielded him from the world he had chosen to forget, for her, came crashing back.

He had let go of the only thing that made him happy. The memory of her was etched into his life, and she was someone he never forgot. As the time passed, he erected a concrete angel in her honor in the garden they had met. Every day he would come back to that spot. She had sacrificed everything for him to see he could make it. She had taught him well. So well...

"If I had known then what I knew now," he said softly. His hand rubbed across his face just as he caught sight of something. The butterflies seemed to flow across the garden in a direction he had never seen. He hesitated before moving away from the statue, taking the road far less traveled by. Her voice never leaving his mind. The only way to continue on was to keep an open heart. Though how could have all the Stars been wrong to him? Could his dreams have been wrong?

In time he learned to complete himself, and he started to not loose sleep from his mistake. He had accepted that this path had been the one for him. He knew that there was always a way, even the darkest days had a silver lining. Her sacrifice had made him realize that he was now wide awake to the world, and that he, truly, didn't need her for every part of his life. She was always a part of his because she had shown him that he was unique. He knew he would see her again, in a way and strange sense.

Until then.

Admin Notifications / Forum Software Upgrade Poll
July 16, 2012, 04:11:10 AM
Hello my little Forsaken ones <3~

This is a very important discussion that I need everyone's opinion on. Why? Because such a thing will bring huge changes to Forsaken.

Forsaken Lullaby is currently running on the last upgrade available for SMF 1.1.x and since last year have been doing software upgrades for 2.x versions. Meaning that Forsaken is not up to date on Security measures that could arise.

However upgrading from 1.1.x to 2.x is not nearly as simple as our updates have been. Updates have been seamless, while this upgrade is more time consuming [and will result in the forum being down for a day unless things go smoothly]. It is not however a bad thing if we are not using the newest version of SMF [as we have been running fine now for a rather long time].

The choice is more, however, to you guys. The users who make Forsaken Lullaby possible to even exist.

For the differences between the two go here: http://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/Differences_between_SMF_2.0_and_SMF_1.1

Forsaken will also have to go through a new theme list, as well due to the fact 1.1.x themes do not compute with 2.x themes.

Any and all comments and/or suggestions will be taken into consideration.

Do note that if it is a request to change the entire software from SMF to another one [i.e - myBB or PHP] this is way more complicated and will also cause downtime [that and changing anything in phpBB is a bitch >_>].

Open Roleplay / Forsaken Mother Machine
July 09, 2012, 07:59:02 PM
Harsh breath left her lips as she continued to run. Running from what she should have accepted a long time ago as she was soon left staring at a reflection of herself. Only the reflection looked at her with a slightly crazed look, and was far more sensual than her. Blue hazel eyes that were ringed in violet glared at the reflection staring back at her. The Chaos to her Order, and she had come to know now over the centuries that they couldn't live without the other but they each hated each other.

"Kitira," came the calm voice that left her lips, despite the lack of air she felt in her chest as her counterpart smiled slow and twisted. "Vega, why must you run from your fate? You know you cannot win without me." Her hands wrapped around her hair and tugged, hard, and started to pull her into a kiss...

That was when Vega shot up with a start, sweat covering her body as she panted softly and held her head in her hands. Blonde hair tumbled across her slim shoulders, showing her bare back. Seven emboldened scars danced along her back as she finally pulled her face from her hands, looking at herself at the mirror that stood above her vanity showing most of her topless form to her. She was thinner than she used to be, dark circles under her eyes from the nightmares that had started to plague her.

Shaking herself, she pulled herself from the sheets and made her way to the bathroom, washing her face as she stood in the middle, feeling the breeze from the window. Kitira's words echoing in her head as she took in a deep shattering breath. If it wasn't nightmares plagued by the Queen of Chaos it was flashbacks to when they had been once been whole. The memory of an idea. An idea that still stood standing to this day partially due to the fact she and Kitira were still in existence.

Not without Kitira's lack of trying.

Reaching for her robe that hung on the back of her door, wrapping it around herself as she walked out back into her room to stand out on the terrace that over looked the garden below. "I don't know if I can do this." She finally said, aloud. There were so many risks in doing this. And for once, Kitira was right. She did need her to win. Terra would never survive without them making the decision. Yet was their idea of their ideal world worth saving?

Her whole purpose for staying as long as she had was to see if it had been worth it. To save it if she could. Yet without Kitira she couldn't determine that. That was Judge, or Takoda's job. A being without conquest, who bowed to no one and was feared as well as adored by hundreds of people if they knew she still existed. But it had been quite some time since Vega had reinstated her authority. She needed to reform the Court.

Her gaze turned to the white roses that bloomed just outside her reach, "I'm the jury, and the Judge, and I've been the one who's committed all the crimes. How does that work for Karma?" She said dryly as she looked up into the predawn sky. Taking a deep breath she set about to going what she needed to do.

~*~

When Vega appeared on a semi-raised dais above the marble floors she was surprised so many answered the call to come together. Her feline guards stood silent next to her. Catalina with her loyal ebony staff Asar, the former priestess of Bast seemed focused on tonight's events but her emerald gaze would occasionally flick in her direction and to the other guard who stood on the other side of her. Despite both being female, this one seemed the more imposing of the two. Maybe it was the fact that unlike Catalina, Rose only had fans hanging at her hips.

Vega knew that if trouble came up the two would protect her.

Clearing her throat she turned attention back to the front. "As you may all know you've all been summoned here for one purpose. To escort me from here to the Navirene, or known to some of you as the Jewel of the World for it's wonders and port center. The journey won't be easy, but it will be made infinitely better thanks to the Sky Ship. I have asked most of you to join me based on either your clans realm of expertise or to provide beneficial trading ventures between us." Her look remained on the group. Those at the front had a good glimpse of her, a blue dress the curved from around her knees to touch the floor in the back, it left her shoulders bare and slid along her curves. Her blonde hair coiling along her shoulders and back. "Tell us who among you shall be joining us."

Tugging at his trench coat he flipped back his coat as he waited, the gravecrawlers mourning their dead loved ones. He never did understand this market for which he served but it was quick, clean and easy money in the day when you could finance practically every part of one's body to GeneCo and sell your soul to the devil in doing so. Of course the real reason why he was here to get the beautiful blue liquid that was his particular submarket.

Unfortunately for him, as per usual, that fucking Amber Sweet had come and cleaned out his last stock of Zydrate. She was addicted to that lovely knife that cut into her flesh, as was everyone else who wanted to feel no pain, nothing but the ecstasy akin to an unending orgasm while the blood poured onto the floor. GraveRobber didn't care of course as his blue eyes glanced over the gravestone, rolling to the next grave and flipping the tomb open.

"And it's my job to steal and rob..." he sang to himself as he set the vial in his needle gun, smacking it up into the corpse's skull and pulled back slowly. "Yeah that's the ticket..." He grinned as the blue filled the vial depositing it into his bag before wandering onto the next stockhold of graves. Where was it that he found the other day? The Jackpot motherload for Zydrate warehouse? "Ah yeah where that kid almost tripped the alarm." He kinda felt bad about it, but she had gotten in the way of his job.

Though something still bothered him, though he was in the submarket of blood, sex, and well drugs - why could no one accept the very thing they were? They were so obsessed to change their looks and could never accept who they were. Granted it got him paid, and laid, but since they could pay for the surgeries why the hell did they need him? Eh? He was so lost in his thoughts that he almost tripped over someone. Apparently his secret stash what not so secret and not so much his anymore.

"Who the fuck are you?"

Every time the world ends, it begins anew. With destruction comes life. And it is with the Resistance that life has found it's hope to dwell. To protect the human populace from the storm that poses to reek havoc upon their lands thanks to a technological advance destroying the barrier between worlds, a group of misfit Rebels stand in between the Humans and the very groups they represent. But how can anyone save them from Babylon?

This is an opportunity for those who play in the Terra area to have some place to go as well between posts~

There can be good guys or bad guys interwoven. =P As always! Creative input can make this really interesting. There are NO Race restrictions outside of Gods. However! All characters must be cleared by me~

This can be played as the Rebels either reveal to humans who they are in varying degrees, or it can be done in complete secrecy. :3 Like I said this is fully up for discussion.  As well the significance of the technological advancements~ :3

Alternative Roleplay Requests / Group Skyrim Rp?
May 04, 2012, 08:11:45 PM
Seeing as how most everyone has been playing Skyrim as of late [and I believe Uri and Panda are doing a skyrim rp themselves] I wanted to see if anybody would be interested in doing a group Skyrim rp! :D It might bring about some creative minds. I personally have never played, so I likely wouldn't participate. However the idea is out there for everybody.

The story behind Death had changed over the years. Whether it be a Man, a Woman, a creature that devoured the souls of the living or prevented those to cross into the land of the Dead, these things were all true and all false at the same time. Death operated on it's own Laws. Laws that had been written before their was belief in the world of Man. Mortals had no idea just what exactly Death was only that it would come for them in time. Unless of course one made a Deal with Death.

Dealing with the devil, or a demon, or any sort of creature outside of Death usually guaranteed the loss of your soul until the creature in question died. Making a deal with Death meant you dealt directly with it. You became It's Reaper, to take the souls of the soon to be departed to their respective place on the other side of the Land of the Living. What their fate was dealt with what they believed. Human belief channeled their ultimate goal, there was no wrong or right way to die.

At least until you were a Reaper like Malachai Steele. See Malachai had made a deal with Death for selfish reasons. So his ending wasn't so pleasant. A debt to Death that required a lot of repayment. He thought he could cheat Death out of his bargain. He had been dead wrong when he got stuck on this side. All reapers had a power in them though that helped bring the soul in question so long as they stuck to the list that Death gave them.

However Malachai relished in err toying with his prey so to speak. And had been doing so for years, of course anything to get some rocks off in his case. Hey if they were going to die anyway might as well go out in style! So when he was summoned to Death's chamber there was a little nagging thought that maybe, just maybe, Death might care exactly what he did with such gifts at his disposal. Boy was he in for a trip.

For many eons, a war has raged between Heaven and Hell, with Demons tempting humans, and Angels saving them from their downfalls. So what happens if something that Angels hold dear was actually a Demonic thing? Hope was no mere illusion in times like this; she was a living and breathing person, who also happened to possess a Demon of the same name.

How fitting that the thing that was supposed to raise the morals of everyone embodied a Demon? Hope herself was aware of the Demon's presence whispering in her mind that she would be destined for great things. Many looked up to her and despite the fact the Demon lurked in her mind, she was bound and determined to make something of herself.

She thought, at first, to become a Sister of the Catholic Church - but the Demon didn't take well to it and that idea was burned away, so she turned to something else: Art. Though a female, and a nonwealthy one at that, she strove to bring hte very things people believed in to life. Her Demon at least seemed to like this idea. Too bad not everyone liked Their image made. Though the Lord seemed to be a part of every Church in the city, no one sought to cave the Lord into stone.

Until now.

Hope had been puzzling for the past few weeks of how to actually start working on such a piece. She knew that once she did sculpt it, she could go forward with the others she had in mind. The Angels, that stood at the foot of the Lord's chariot and throne. The Demon, who was a male seemed to rustle in the back of her head. It was very strange having two minds in the same body, but it seemed to work out for both of them.

You could always start from the top, that way your foundation remains. he slid into her mind.
