Zyrb

Eleos had been planning this for quite some time, but now, under the Solar Eclipse there was no more time to be wasted. The man that had been chosen was brutish in nature, having been and enforcer for some sort of organize crime family, surely he would be missed but to the strange beastie that was the Zykla it did not matter. Sins had been committed and would be paid for in short time that was for sure, even now the prepping was being done. Plastic sheets lined the area in which he would work, a homage to a TV show long passed that had inspired his most recent kill. There was an energy in the air, an almost tension that could be felt if they had been in the room with the budding psychopath. The dark furred form of the monster in the making was currently bare from waist up, each hair standing on end in excitement as he felt the bite of the blade into the restrained brute. Watching as flesh was peeled away, split open and exposed. Crimson pouring from the open wound, man still drawing breath as he worked. Soon a stain of blood would darken his fur all the way to the elbows.

Sharp crack and chanted words, that ritualistic methodology that pushed him further down the path of his own undertaking. This was not the first, but it would be the most important, a beginning to something new, something more. The ribs had been broken, if the man who was currently on his last legs beneath the attention of the Zykla had not been drugged and held under then surely screams would be the companion of the night. Alas the ribcage eventually gave way and swiftly heart was simply torn from the chest of the man. Drawn to his lips and maw split letting the last throbs of life force dribble down his chin and chest and then the entire organ had been devoured in a few bites. Completed was the ritual and strength of the man was now to be given to the consumer, all that was left was clean up. Display of the body with chest cleanly opened and the rest of the organs removed, what a delightful way to spend the evening.

The next morning was always the hardest, to act as if all the little people with their own thoughts and own wants and needs mattered. As he came into the office he would be greeted in passing by comrades that he could barely remember the names of. The only one that really mattered was the detectives partner. Smile hanging from the well dressed male as he shot a glance toward woman, button up shirt of a crimson color easily a stark contrast against his naturally dark fur, hanging from well sculpted frame. A pair of suspenders that were attached to slacks, khaki well made for work use. Gun was tucked away into holster that was held beneath the arm and badge hung around his neck, well known for his speed and aggressive nature when on a case if they only knew the truth of the matter. If they only could imagine what sort of monster that they sheltered. "Heard something about a new case when I was coming in. Something we need to be worried about?

Dies Irae

There wasn't much to living in the city for the average person, the only thing that took getting used to was the noise, car alarms, sirens of the police and paramedics, but you got used to it, while there were many people breathing their last on any given night, the mutt that lived in a modest apartment was spending the evening reading, catching up on work, enjoying a simple dinner and trying her damnedest to get some sleep, fan blowing on the nightstand to drown out the noise of the streets. By time the sun was actually in the sky, she was already out, getting a start on the day with a decent run, then to the station to change for the day of doing nothing exciting like the last few months.

By time Eleos arrived, Renee was already at her desk, folders and papers strewn messily in a pile while she scanned the days caseload, it helped to get in early, less so to make a start on the work, and more to avoid the catcalls and awkward flirting of the other officers and detectives that made up the city department. Ears twitched at the voice of her partner, looking up with a sigh and shaking her head If you call petty theft and missing persons worrying then by all means, oh look someones cat ran away", the canine commented sarcastically. She picked up her things, badge slung around her neck, firearm holstered at her hip. She flashed him a smile and pressed a case-file into his chest "But boss wants us to help some under-covers find the guy they were investigating, some low tier crime family shmuck" she said while walking to the break room for coffee I swear, i thought when i made detective, id get more excitement", lamenting the position while stirring her cup, least there was relatively no dress code in their line of work, much the same as him, egg-shell white button up dress shirt, black cargo pants which she fought tooth and nail to be allowed, business slacks never fit her style.

The canine stared at him while drinking, fixing her pink and blue hair in the reflection the microwave door "So im thinking we do a sweep around the mob territory as civvies, then go meet up with the detectives to fact check" she mused while he read the file on the man he'd already taken care of. Stepping forward and staring up at him "Though, if you have a better idea, im all ears".
