In chat, it was decided to start a Pokepeople (anthropomorphic Pokemon) RP. Further discussion brought about the idea for a Group setting. So here's where anyone can discuss such things! :D

The idea behind all of this is that the Pokepeople aren't human, but have humanoid characteristics. They're regarded as less than human by the humans, who have ultimate control over the Pokepeoples lives. Trainers, humans who have an affinity for collecting and training a group of up to 6 pokepeople for battles, are out to entertain the non-Trainers of this different PokeUniverse. They're treated like celebrities if they've fought through the ranks, much akin to the games and anime.

For the RP, this would generally fit into a sort of slave/master kind of situation. Trainers would have a level of domination over their Pokepeople as they're solely responsible for their well-being. Being a Trainer means you had to have qualified for a Trainer Card (much like a license) via knowledge testing. Once you have your card, you're free to go capture or buy your Pokepeople.

Each Trainer you meet in the while can choose to battle you with their team. Seeing as teams aren't discussed before battles, you never know what to expect. Issues with morality and ethics can come into play, swaying the Trainer's choices to either extreme. Being a Pokeperson means you are the instrument of your Trainer. You are to obey your Trainer, but only if they are in posession of the appropriate level badge. These badges are awarded only after the Trainer can demonstrate their ability with their current team of Pokepeople.

If a Trainer can make it to the Elite 4, an ever larger challenge awaits. They're generally Type Specialists and they're tougher than most. The Champion is the coveted position in the Pokepeople League as they're the human who gets to push out new Pokepeople League edicts and regulations. The Champion position can be lost to another Trainer, but only after the Champion has held their position for a minimum of one year.

Trainers may refuse to fight other trainers. The Champion cannot refuse a battle when contesting their Pokepeople League position OR in day-to-day life.

For the sake of the RP aspects, having knowledge of Pokemon and their move sets/move pools (as well as possible TMs) is going to be needed. You'll want to know which Types you're weak/strong against. When RPing, you can choose to be a Trainer, Pokeperson, or both if you wish. Just be prepared to play multiple roles.

If anyone wants to add/discuss anything here, please do! I just pulled this from my ass to make a leap towards an RP. Just needed some guidelines to go by. :)

As for you Tako, I think we decided for:

  • Tako - Suicune
  • Tako - Espeon
  • Tako - Haunter
  • DRAMA - Houndoom(m)
  • DRAMA - Ampharos(m)
  • DRAMA - Exploud(f)

We need to decide on the sex of our Trainer, who's gonna play the Trainer, how far along their career they are, and so forth. Also, what sex your Pokepeople are. Mine are listed above. :)

This looks... pretty boos. :3

I guess I could set up a Character Bio thread where people could post Trainers or Pokepeople you wish to play. Then a play thread where the action happens. Just trying to decide how it all works and if I really want to mess with battle rules (like stats and what not).

Should we post what pokepeople we wish to use if we are continuing this idea?
