She didn't remember how long she had been standing there. The moon told her hours, but her mind told her minutes. Yet the memory couldn't leave her as she stood at the edge of the cliff that bordered the heart of the Kingdom. They seldom named the place, for it was always understood that there were factions of those to the north, and then clans to the west. But here was the Heart of it all.

Or what used to be the heart of it. Tears freely fell from her face as the flames still licked the sky. She put her arm to her face as a gust of air blew the smoke into her direction, causing those wings to flutter a bit behind her. Whoever destroyed the Heart had no longer wanted the order of the world. Nova took a few steps back, finally, away from the cliff and leaned against one of the Elder trees.

Her body shook, tears falling in streams down her face from those vibrant blue eyes. She had been sent away on purpose. She had to have been. She had been one of Fae-king's greatest spies to the Fall Court. Winter court would have been following soon and she with it. It was the custom - the changing of the Guard. She needed to find a safe place though. She was a warrior first and foremost, even with the heavy heart that beat inside her chest.

Wiping her face in her hands she took in a deep breath. There was only one place to go. She had to go to People of the Trees and Streams. Those who lived on the outskirts of the kingdom and ruled in their own sovereignty. Spreading the blue butterfly wings wide she took to the air, just as the coming rays of dawn took the sky, the Sacred Circle was far enough away that it would burn the rest of her fear away and would bring her the conviction she needed. She had to find the Winter Queen, as well as see who was Friend or Foe.

The Sacred Circle had been the understood place of neutrality no matter the place within and beyond the outstretches of the Kingdom. Slowly she descended into the grove of trees, and a true look of her appearance could be seen in the daylight that streaked through the trees. The Faekin woman wasn't extremely tall, but Nova's height was shadowed by the blue butterfly wings that spread along her back, the skirt that hung along her hips was definitely meant for speed in mind. A simple belted breast plate covered her torso, as well a single gloved arm, wrist guards covered the other.

Now she only had to wait until she could speak to someone, she just hoped it wasn't someone who liked to take the Faekin's power of flight away.
Only in our sweetest lullaby do we realize how forsaken we are...
Because we're living in a fairy tale of lies.
