Humans:

Interesting creatures, with no real actual life expectancy to them. Once long ago, they could live for hundreds of years. But centuries of exposure to pollution, bad eating, bad bodily habits, and bad mental habits, have led them to shorter life expectancy. Humans are born, not made, and are one of the most versatile of the races. With a myriad of histories, and possible outcomes, these are the creatures that can be turned into several of the other races. Humans are the most closed minded of all the species, only about 20% of the whole human population actually believes in the existence of magic. Only 80% of the children population of the world, actually listens to the stories that their parents tell them. Only 40% of that group, actually truly believe. Science rules the human mind, most of the time.

Magic has died for them, it's all cheap parlor tricks, and stupid things. It's not real, it's not precious anymore. They have become dull. Soon they will have to open their eyes, and it will be a rather sad thing when the humans realize a lot of things.

Racial Specs:
You may not start the roleplay as a changed human, meaning one that has been changed into another race. You can say you wish to become such and such a race, but you may not force the player characters to do so.
All human characters must be over the age of 18, I will not have children in my roleplay. And legal age in America is 18.
Humans have a life expectancy in this world, of about 70 years. Due to various health hazards, and the like.
Humans can be born Psychic, but it's more often found in females then in males. Same with being born with magic. The magic though is more often born Within The Guardian Families.
A player character, that has not been approved, cannot make a Guardian.

The Guardian Families:

Guardian of the Fae: Aisling Draige(24)
Guardian of the Vampires: Catherine Donovan(22)
Guardian of the Merepeople: Serenity Bates(27)
Guardian of the Dragons: Daria Grant(25)(Twin to Damian)(The previous Guardian of the Dragons married the Previous Gaurdian of the Weres)
Guardian of the Weres: Damian Grant(25)(Twin to Daria)(The previous Guardian of the Dragons married the Previous Gaurdian of the Weres)
Guardian of the Phantoms: Aithne McCarrick(40 years, yet unmarried no children. Phantoms worry they may never have another Guardian)
Guardian of the Demons: Yukiko Kurosaki(32)
Guardian of the Angels: Gregory Virnoff(43, seven children none have the mark yet)

Guardians are marked at birth, by a symbol that will make them the Guardian they will be. Only one in each family, in each Generation is born with this mark. Each mark is placed on a separate part of the body. All of the Guardians gather once a year, to discuss things with the government and each other, and have each others numbers on Speeddial for protection purposes. When a creature comes through the Gateway of a Guardian, the Guardian's mark burns. To warn them, not only about how many but the strength of the creature coming through.

Fae: Mark is on the crook of shoulder and neck, it's a three point crown.
Vampire: A red crescent moon, in the small of the back.
Merepeople: A crested wave mark(think tribal), luminescent blue, left hip.
Dragons: A small tribal dragon, that rests right over the heart. Black as night.
Weres: A circle etched into the skin just behind the right earlobe, this looks like a full moons outline.
Phantoms: Oddly enough it's a half masquerade mask, tiny, and resting on the right bicep.
Demons: The symbol of eternity, etched on their right wrist.
Angels: Tribal like wing markings, between the shoulder blades.

When the Barrier was put into place, and the Vampire race was given their own home, seven main families came together. This was the Royal Court, that would later make the basis for all of the Vampire Kind.In the Vampire society, unless you are made into one of the powerful families, you are seen as lesser if you are 'turned'. The pureness of blood, matters quite a bit to them. There are many rules in place, about having children, and how many each family may have at any given time. Because being a Vampire is very dangerous, as with any other race, there are sometimes allowances made if a Draculina happens to birth twins. Though several main families came together, there was plenty of lesser groups(or kiss' you may say) that came to join that world)

Draculs: Male Vampires
Draculinas: Female Vampires
The Turned: Those not turned within one of the Seven
The Venerated: A human chosen by one of the Seven families, to join their ranks.
Dhamphir: A blanket term placed on any vampire with less then 25% Vampire genetics.

Vampires cannot be killed by sunlight, unless they have not fed for a long time. All of the Vampire race despises what is called Twilight, and many of them seek to hunt down the woman that created the series and show her what a real Vampire is. They do not sparkle in the sunlight, they are not capable of feeding off of Animals that easily.

Vampires can only turn humans, none of the other races. Even if a member of a race, originated as a human. They are no longer capable of being turned.

The Current Heads of the Families:

The Kiss of Blood: Beatrice Sorange
Heir: Oldest Son(May be named if someone manages to reach 5th level of the test, and wishes to play him)
The Kiss of Blood has the capability to manipulate blood around them. It's a powerful ability, and they are the least effected by bloodlust or rage. They are venerated as the head of all of the Royal City. Meaning Beatrice is the Queen of the Vampires, her son the Prince. Her husband and consort is no longer with us.

The Kiss of Night: Vincent Draganoff
Heir: None as of yet
The Kiss of Night has the capability to manipulate the shadows around them. This is a useful ability when one needs to get themselves away from dangerous situations. They are the clan that is used for the General work. Meaning their members usually have higher stations in the military of the Vampire World, and they run things.

The Kiss of Death:  Nox Herald
Heir: Samantha Herald
The kiss of death is a clan with an interesting ability. They are seen as seers and heralds of doom. They are known as the givers of death. They are used as the Black ops unit in their world, and are sent to kill those that need killing. Most often called the Enforcers of their race. They make sure the laws are followed, and with a single touch and a focused mind, and a persons true name, they can bring about your death. (NPC Only, for now)

The Kiss of the Sun: Nancy Strauss
Heir: Dominic Strauss
The Kiss of the Sun is the clan that has the most capabilities of interacting with humans. They are what are most commonly referred to as 'Day walkers'. They have no ill effects from walking in the sun, as do others of their race, but that comes at a cost. Most of them are literally seen as insane. A sane Kiss member, is venerated. Usually only the head of the family, is sane. And her heir. Now I mean sane in the sense that they are not constantly plagued with visions. They can act like normal beings, but how sane would you think someone is, if they stopped in the middle of their work all the time and started shouting prophetic things?

The Kiss of Flame: Katherine Ferrara
Heir: unnamed
The Kiss of Flame is known for it's vampires immune to the touch of flame. This Kiss is dangerous, and most often has rebellious members within. They can manipulate flames from around them, and are immune to the effects it would have. Unfortunately, this will cause some issues in the future. For the head of the family has not chosen her heir, from her ten children. She is old, and has had a long time to have children, but not one has been picked yet.

The Kiss of Passion: Jean Claude-Fawciet (If you catch the reference, I'll laugh XD)
Heir: Asher Claude-Fawciet
This is the clan most often associated with 'succubi or incubi', though none of the demon is within their ranks. Nor have they ever been. These Vampires are sensual creatures, and can amp up the passions of those around them. This comes at a cost, not only do they have to satisfy the bloodlust, but they also have to satisfy the beast within that seeks passion.

The Kiss of Magic: Thera Draemon
Heir: Serina Draemon
This is the clan that is considered the magic users of the vampire race. Most of them are seeped in magic and books, and can't be bothered to interact with others. They are a secretive bunch, and player characters of this race will be monitored heavily.

Racial Details:
Vampires that are young, must feed more often. Vampires are not allowed out of their Realm till they are at least 100 years old. This is their age of majority.

Dhamphir's are born human, and not allowed to leave the realm of the Vampire. The Kiss's watch over all of them in a sort of community type daycare, and wait for their day of change. When they turn 18 years, they undergo a change, that will decide if the human or the Vampire rules. Or if any of the Vampire will even show itself. At the time of the Change, the choosing, the child will undergo a lot of physical changes. Afterwards they will be offered human food, to see if they are capable of eating it. If not they are given blood and trained within the Kiss that sired them.

Pureblood children, have a higher fatality rate. They are less likely to survive infancy, as they need a combination of their mothers milk, and the blood of both of their parents. If they make it to the age of 20, their bodies undergo the changes that turn them into a Vampire. It's painful, and there is a high fatality rate.

Vampires MUST feed off of human or mythical blood. They CANNOT survive off of animal blood. Under any circumstances. It's like a human surviving off of just water, no food. You're body will eat itself alive, and that's what happens to a Vampire.

They are not harmed by sunlight, except for needing extra blood. The stronger the vampire, the more blood they will need. Especially the older the vampire.

Fire will effect them, unless they are of The Kiss of Fire.

They can be killed by a stake through the heart, and chopping off their head. Though there are rumors of Vampires that can survive, this and come back even stronger then before. But those are just rumors.

Only humans can be turned. And Vampires are only allowed three turns in their lifetime. If this is broken, without Royal sanction, they are considered Rogues and Enforcers will kill them.
