Night had fallen, the last rays of the sun having given up their hold to the moon. A crescent that gave off very little light, not that it mattered to the things that stalked the streets. No, only the humans needed the lights to see what waited for them in the shadows so patiently.

"Back again..."

A faintly British accent, one obviously that she tried to hide, reached her own ears. She hadn't meant to speak aloud but it would be alright. Not many would be out on a night like this one anyway. Fortunately for her. It meant that not many would be able to claim to have seen her here again after so many years of being gone. Especially since the "pack" had moved on.

Which again was fortunate for her because this time all she wanted was peace to live as she had chosen. Quietly. That would have been impossible had she come back at a time when the humans and other beings would be out in numbers.  You see, she would be nearly impossible to miss even on a dark night. Her inhuman attributes making her a very.... memorable person.

Silver ears flicked back and forth at every sound that reached her. Those ears matched the fur of the tail that trailed behind her, and the mid-back length hair that was pulled up into a high tail just behind her ears. Her clothes however were designed to be forgettable. Dark green cargo pants, black boots and a green tank top made up her current outfit of choice. Nothing that drew the eye really, of course as she had just gotten back into town that might change.

She'd been moving from place to place for as many years as she could remember.  This time though, she planned to stay. She was, what you would call, a stray. And now she was looking for a home.
Shaking her head to clear her thoughts she started walking. Maybe she would find a good place for the night. Or maybe she would find something interesting to occupy her until the morning.

Clear skies, quiet streets, the night that would become lightened by a scarlet moon soon enough, now that the hidden children had free reign over the streets, he had already fed once, the remnants of life dripping from the protruding fangs of his mouth, the corpse in the distance cold and lifeless, his sustenance, a price that few were willing to pay, but since when had they cared whether the chosen dinner was willing to die to feed them. his eyes shined red in the moonlight, sitting atop the steps to a cramped streetside house, he knew not if the girl he had drained lived there, but he would show little care even if she did.

Picking himself from the stone step he wiped the drying blood from his mouth wiping it on the black coat that fell to his knees, suspicious maybe, anyone out this late was, though there were more, this place had became somewhat of a proving ground for his kind, he had few acquaintances here, though he boarded with some during the day, his nights were mostly in blissful solitude how he preferred to hunt, though a peculiar scent peaked his interest, a blood type he hadn't smelt for a while, the blood of a wolf, delicacy hardly but a rare treat in any case.

His boots filled the dark alley he crossed through with small sounds, opened black boots, he had little care for tying laces, even further the boots were only to keep what he was out of the minds of the humans, fitting in was crucial though the night owls lifestyle he was apparently living wasn't considered normal in anyway. Black cargo pants hung loosely around his waist, leading into a grey dress shirt, the top button undone to keep his feeding unrestricted, that and he preferred to have his collar open.

His hair was more peculiar not that dying it helped any, white as snow though he was far from elderly in appearance, his hairy was messy though kept in a tamed manner, somewhat spiked from the quick but uncaring combing he had given it before he left the den. Pale skin one of the obvious traits of his race, though he had the appearance to humans as the what they called Albino type, he paid no attention to human labels, getting closer to the scent he quicken his pace slightly, wolves were fast when they wanted to be, he could keep up yes, though he had no intention of having a chase today, merely a peaked interest in why a wolf was hanging around in a place that held more than one vampire den.

Leaning against a wall somewhat ahead of were he assumed the scent would pass he waited silently, the odd pedestrian passing by him, each quicken their own pace as they passed, he could smell the fear in their blood once they noticed him, it was common, around these streets it was wise to be distrusting to strangers, though if he had a desire to attack them, there would be no hope to overpower or outrun. Though the scent he was interested in approached he smirked, looking up his eyes glowing in the darkness of the shadowed street "Your either incredibly courageous or equally stupid for coming into a quite apparent vampires grounds, which would it be wolf?" he asked stepping forward, hands buried into the pockets of his black coat.

Glancing at the vampire who now stood before her she tilted her head slightly. Yes she had scented the vampires, but there had been other scents as well. Scents buried deep under the blood and old death that always lingered in her senses. Or in this case, recent death. Sneezing softly was not the best of first impressions but she couldn't help it, it was a reaction that she had never mastered. At least it was silent when she needed to be unless you knew what to listen for. Regardless.

"Neither."

Bright green eyes watched him wearily as she answered. It had been a long trip for her and she was in no mood to deal with this vampire, or any vampire for that matter. Now after a nice rare steak and a cold drink, on a full moon maybe. But with nothing in her stomach and full moon already past she would be careful. Or as careful as her mercurial nature would let her be.

"Last I checked this town catered to more than just your kind vampire."

Sniffing the air she gave him questioning eyes. Her nose hadn't lied to her before, so she knew there were others of their kind in this town. Not just vampires but felines and the fey. So far she was the only wolf. Which was good, it meant less trouble with the locals. Unless of course this vampire was something like a leader?

Standing upright walking closer to the wolf addressing him he scoffed, the others, mere trivialities in this place, what could the other supernatural beings do here, they were no threat, no challenge, they would run like they always did if war between the two superior races broke out again "Maybe they reside here, but catered hardly, the felines fulfilling the fantasys of teenage humans, the feys well i' wouldn't say they deserve acknowledgment from my kind" he said coldly, he like many from the aristocratic part of the vampire culture saw only the lycanthropes as threats, the other beings were neglegible at the most.

"But you are out of your element here wolf" he muttered circling her slowly, he could kill her, but that would spark more than a simple murder, tensions running high between the two races for millenia would not be rekindled by him, "Zara, at your service" he said, bowing graciously as he did so. Staring back to her "As it so happens i am in no mood for a hunt tonight, my feeding has been performed and i wouldn't risk the sun on a wolf, your not my preferred meal in any case" he said moving back to the opening of the alley.

"I shall warn you though, steer clear of the streets at night, or at least mask your scent, your much to easy to find, there are more than one of us that has a taste for wolf"

He walked from the alley, raising a hand behind him and flicking it to the side in a short wave, he wasn;t without his niceties for meetings, perhaps if a war did break, he may have a bargaining chip in this wolven girl, after all the aristocracy was known to be cunning in that sense. Returning to his den, some of his fellow vampires already home, exchanging different stories of their hunts, he was addressed as he headed for his room, muttering "Blonde girl, tasted like an O, a little to much iron", shutting his door behind him preparing for bed, falling asleep as the sun began to creep from behind the clouds.

Raising an eyebrow as he walked away she shook her head. Vampires would never change. They hadn't in the last hundred years and probably wouldn't for that much longer. Glancing up at the sky she did agree that he would have risked the sun on her if he had wanted to try her.

Shrugging she continued on her way, with no doubts that he would eventually show up again. Slipping into a building that most humans would avoid she waited only long enough for her eyes to adjust before starting forward. This place was one of the few safe resting places left for her kind.

"Isadora, Isadora Lynn?"

Turning to face the house's keeper she nodded. Some would think it strange she acknowledged a ghost but at least she would be able to sleep safely. When she was not held up any longer she found a room with a bed and waited for sunrise before drifting off to sleep herself.

She would have to rest to be up when the sun went down anyway.

Laying comfortably in a dark room for most of the day, Zara had however been thinking of that wolf during his throws of sleep, why was she there? did her pack abandon her? or did she abandon them? the questions he would get answers to most likely the very next night, her scent was in his nose now and a vampire never lost a scent of blood especially that of a wolf.

Taking his time when he awoke, the white hair a mess as he fixed himself, looking to the window as the sun set, he had to hunt and that meant finding prey outside once again, being presentable was one of his many self requirements before stepping out into the night, prepared to leave he got to the door before being stopped by a fellow vampire "What is it Nara?" he asked impatiently.

"You forgot, it's your turn to take Kil out" she said, a pale and young girl hiding behind Nara's legs.

Zara sighed and opened the door "Whatever, let's go Kil" he said, walking out of the house with the young vampire following closesly, this was all he needed, to be the babysitter when he had more pressing matters, though hunting was easy, feeding himself on a late night jogger, while he had taken a young woman on her way home for Kil, sitting himself on the sidewalk as his young companion fed, watching the moon, wondering if he would meet with that wolf again tonight.

Waking once the moon had fully risen Isadora yawned and ran a careless hand through her hair, snagging a few tangles on her way. Her first, though delayed thought was to make sure she was still alone in her room since she had woken later than she planned to begin with. Rubbing her weary eyes she got up and made her way back out of the safe house and into the streets, moving more carefully than she had the night before to hunt for herself.

Unlike the vampires within the city however she preferred to not draw attention to herself and instead found a simple diner to settle her hunger quietly. At some point she would have to truly hunt but not until closer to the end of the next week.  Finding a place to sit outside the little diner she ordered and finished her meal of a medium rare steak, baked potato and salad before she indulged in the one thing she had been really waiting for in a iced coffee she relaxed.

Watching the few remaining humans on the streets she took note of a few Cats and Fae watching her but made no move to either acknowledge or provoke them, instead she watched more for the curious Vampire who had warned her about coming into the area and about masking her scent which until that moment she had forgotten completely.

"Well Isa... You are getting to lax in your old age..."

Chuckling to herself over her coffee she carefully concealed her scent, knowing it probably wouldn't matter. Though she would deal with that if it came down to it. The night was still young afterall.
